On the 25th of January 2024, the SWaTH project organized a welcoming event for the new and returning students at the University of Balamand. The event was inaugurated with an inspiring speech by Prof. Rami Abooud, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and the Vice President for Internationalization and Engagement. Prof. Abboud outlined the magnificent objectives and initiatives of the SWaTH Project.
Following Prof. Abboud’s welcoming speech, Ph.D. students Yara Nasr, Marleine Boutros, and Georgio Farah shared their personal experiences at the University of Balamand and how the SWaTH Project opened new horizons for them.
Dr. Makram, in his closing remarks, encouraged students to seize the unique opportunities offered by the SWaTH Project in its last 6 months. Throughout the event, there was a sense of fellowship and encouragement, creating meaningful connections between students, faculty, and staff.
The event was concluded with a Q&A session, providing attendees with a platform to share their concerns and engage in constructive dialogue.
