The mobility to Granada included technical presentations about the latest and the most innovative techniques in wastewater. MALDONADO HÓDAR presented carbons for environmental solutions. PASTRANA MARTÍNEZ explained the advanced oxidation processes for water treatment. MORALES TORRES extended the talk about the synthesis and properties of carbon-based membranes for water purification. In addition, the SWaTH team took advantage of the sabbatical year of BANDOSZ from the City College of New York at the University of Granada to hear about the new perspectives and challenges for nonporous carbons. Moreover, the mobility to Granada included a visit to “HOSPITAL UNIVERSITARIO CLÍNICO SAN CECILIO,” where we visualized the hazardous liquid waste treatment process and the collection process of the solid waste. Furthermore, another visit to the EMASAGRA wastewater treatment plant enabled the SWaTH team to see the different steps and stages of the biological treatment of the wastewater.
